To make Jasmine tea, green or black teas are used as a base which is scented and flavored with jasmine blossoms. Sometimes, white tea might also be used a base for this. Method of Preparation

Tea leaves which are to be used to make Jasmine tea are picked as soon as the spring sets in but are stored till the end of summer. This is because it is during the summer that fresh blossoms of jasmine are easily available. To make jasmine tea, the flowers are picked in the early hours of morning when the petals are still closed. At nightfall, when the flowers open and release their fragrance, the scenting process begins.

To let the tea leaves absorb the flavor and aroma from jasmine petals, they are either mixed together or placed in alternative layers and left overnight. This process might be repeated several times for the best grade jasmine tea. When the flavoring and scenting is complete, the tea leaves are dried once again to keep them from spoiling.
